Outside of the technical skills covered in a job description for a Loan Processor, an ideal candidate would be anally attentive to detail, persverant to completion, innured of rejection and failure (many, many, many applications come to naught), be a “numbers person” yet have people skills to engage customers to trust you with a giant financial step, be patient and attuned to other’s learning styles in your ability to teach and lead applicants through the process in a way that makes them comfortable, be eager to work evenings and weekends and holidays (whenever the applications or deadlines come up), and be eager to pore over fine print and numbers hour after hour, day after day.
